Practice Standards

Dedicated to providing a high standard of service to all our clients and their pets

At Axe Valley we are dedicated to providing a high standard of service to all our clients and their pets, so we made the decision to become part of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme (PSS).

What is the Practice Standards Scheme?

Practice Standards is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary surgeries in the UK to ensure they meet standards set by the RCVS. Its aim is to promote and maintain high standards of care. To become an accredited practice we had a visit from an RCVS inspector, who inspected the practice to ensure that we attained the required standard of hygiene, that we offer a 24 hour emergency veterinary cover, staff training and that we had the minimum recommended equipment.

After the initial inspection we are inspected every four years, although the RCVS do perform spot checks on practices who are members of the scheme so we can be inspected at any time.

For more information on the practice standards scheme please visit the RCVS website.
